I have been designing a lot of bedrooms lately, including my own. While on the hunt for the perfect mattress, I received requests from my clients and family members who were also in the market for a mattress. I would never recommend a product that I didn’t feel safe or that I personally didn’t love — so I had to do some research.
It’s here, it’s here! The BIG reveal of my bedroom is finally here! It has been an incredible 6 weeks trying to get the bedroom complete. This challenge was exactly that, a challenge!
If you can think back to what the bedroom looked like Week 1, the walls had wood paneling painted in bright purple with an outdated ceiling fan. There were shallow closets across from the window wall that weren’t deep enough to hang clothing. The room felt tight and there wasn’t much wall space available to put a bed and dresser.
It’s week 5 of the One Room Challenge. I can’t believe that next week is the final reveal!! The room is almost complete… but I still have some finishing touches before the BIG reveal. Now that the bedroom has been painted, we can finally move the furniture into the room according to the design plan and hang the window treatments.
Welcome to Week 4 of the One Room Challenge! Only 2 more weeks until the big reveal — are you excited?!
The bedroom is really taking shape now and I am getting so excited! At this point, the sheetrock has been installed, prepped, spackled, primed, and painted. All the trimwork has been added too! The crown moulding, new base trim, and window trim made a huge difference in the overall appearance of the room.
It’s Week 3 of the One Room Challenge! I can’t believe we are halfway with the challenge. We are so close yet so far!
Now that the furniture layout has been established, I was able to purchase my furniture for the space. Before I get into my selections, I want to share my process on how I select items for my home and my clients.
